Researchers at Western University visited Beachville Ontario after reports of damage following the big storm on July 19th. These researchers had noticed a short narrow path when capturing drone footage of the area, showing the trail of this small EF1 tornado.
The announcement shares that the Western Northern Tornado Project confirmed the Beachville tornado. It continues on saying that it had 150km/h maximum wind speeds, a prelim length of 2.8km and width of 100 m. No reports of any injuries from this quick tornado touchdown.
This is the first tornado this close to Woodstock in a while. The last tornado that reached within the City of Woodstock is the 1979 outbreak – which caused hundreds of millions of dollars of damage. 2 fatalities and nearly 150 injured community members from the 1979 tornado outbreak.
